Thursday Headlines: Paid In Full Edition

Work will resume on the Gateway Tunnel next week. And more news.
Thursday Headlines: Paid In Full Edition
And the point goes to the governor... Darren McGee/ Office of Governor Kathy Hochul

Things are nearly back to normal at the Gateway Tunnel Project now that the Trump Administration has released the full $205 million owed to the project. To the joy of workers and elected officials, work will pick back up next week.

Gov. Hochul has spent considerable time cajoling the federal government to fulfill its financial obligations, and even with the successful legal battle, she is still looking for improvement.

“Today’s progress is significant, but we need certainty that Gateway funding will remain in place for the duration of the project,” Hochul said in a statement. “The federal government has a legal obligation to fully fund Gateway, and New York will accept nothing less.”
