The latest streets and transportation news from Streetsblog

Happy Monday!
We have the latest on New York’s ongoing e-bike boondoggle. In Schenectady, of all places, Streetsblog identified the sole shop accused of selling illegal e-bikes and/or e-motos. The state Attorney General’s Office had been fielding complaints in the wake of highly visible injuries and deaths involving the devices.
Elsewhere in the region, our friends at New York Focus shared the latest on upstate mayors’ seemingly synchronized efforts to increase pedestrian safety and bike infrastructure. Along the I-90 corridor from Albany to Buffalo, leaders have started to move the needle with actions like street redesigns, although that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been a fair share of pushback or even confusion.
As always, you can check out the latest and greatest in New York transportation on Streetsblog Empire State.
