Wednesday Headlines: Buffalo Cops Are Barking Edition
Buffalo police are flipping out after the city’s parking department has begun ticketing officers for their parking infractions, including those in Niagara Square, which has undertaken a less car-centric overhaul.
They’re calling for the ouster of Justin Booth, the city’s parking commissioner and former leader of GoBike Buffalo, for what they view as unfair penalization and an overtly anti-cop stance.
City Hall, however, has pointed out that police officers, just like everyday Buffalonians, are free to contest parking tickets. And the anti-cop sentiment they are alleging is based on a GoBike Buffalo post made after Booth left the organization, and a repost at that.
Buffalo cops are seemingly ready to declare war on City Hall over the issue, but maybe they should focus on, who knows, public safety…
